Four high school boys golfers from Juanita and Lake Washington have qualified to play in Monday's district golf tournament, for the chance to play at state next spring.

Four high school boys golfers from Juanita and Lake Washington have qualified to play in Monday’s district golf tournament, for the chance to play at state next spring.

As a team Juanita finished in third place at the KingCo medalist tournament with a team score of 402 strokes, while Lake Washington took seventh at 427. Mercer Island won the tournament with a team score of 372. The match was played at Snohomish Golf Course with a course par of 72.

From Juanita, Frank Garber finished third overall, shooting a 73 during the competition. His teammate Michael Bell tied for fifth shooting a 75. Colten Kleis was the third member of the Juanita team to qualify for districts, shooting a 77.

From Lake Washington golfer Max Bunnell tied for fifth with a 75. The Kangs Nathan Aschbacher was named an alternate for next week’s tournament after scoring an 83 at the KingCo match.

The week before Lake Washington beat Liberty 207-220 at Bellevue Golf Course with a par of 35.

Erik Nefzger won the tournament for the Kangs with a score of 39. Bunnell took fourth with a 41, while Neil O’Connor and Marcus Giovacchini, both from Lake Washington, tied for fifth with a 42.
