Late-night drivers should avoid Slater Avenue N.E. tonight through Sept 28 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Lakeside Industries Inc. will resurface the section of road connecting N.E. 124th Street to 132nd Avenue N.E. thanks to the City’s 2012 Street Overlay Project.

The project is a maintenance program funded by the Capital Improvement Program and seeks to prolong street life while saving money by avoiding complete reconstruction.

The program has been steadily going on since July and is expected to finish in October.

Residents can help by making sure vehicles and water are cleared from the effected road. Washing vehicles or watering lawns may harm re-pavement.
