Two International Community School (ICS) Mock Trial teams have advanced to the state competition for the first time in school history, and are the first LWSD high school teams to do so. ICS was one of only two public schools to place in the top eight teams.
Two mock trial teams representing ICS took part in a regional competition sponsored last week by the YMCA at the King County Courthouse.
One team competed as the leadership activity associated with a Business Law course offered at ICS by LWSD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) division. This “Business Law” team took eighth place overall.
ICS’s mock trial club sponsored the second team, which placed in fourth. By finishing among the top eight teams, both ICS teams earned berths in the state competition to be held in Olympia from March 23-25.
