Juanita soccer falls in first state game of the decade

It's been decades since the Juanita girls soccer team made the state playoffs and Wednesday night the journey of this season came to an end with a 4-1 loss to Camas.

It’s been decades since the Juanita girls soccer team made the state playoffs and Wednesday night the journey of this season came to an end with a 4-1 loss to Camas.

The Rebels, who traveled to Camas for the game, couldn’t slow the Papermakers down in the 90 minute match.

Camas caught the Rebels off guard with two goals early in the match, in the fourth and sixth minutes for a 2-0 start to the game.

The Papermakers then scored another goal before the half, by Janae Benson, assisted by Emily Ponce in the 32 minute. Caitlyn Glenn scored the Rebels only goal of the night two minutes later.

The team from Camas then sealed with win with their fourth goal of the night midway through the second half.

The Rebels ended the season with a 12-5-3 overall record.
