Two construction projects will close two sections of the city’s streets starting tomorrow. The first closure—a 50-foot section of 132nd Avenue Northeast, just south of Northeast 85th Street—begins and ends Friday, July 24. The road closure will not include any driveways on 132nd Avenue Northeast. Drivers intending to head east or west can use Northeast 80th Street. They can use 128th Avenue Northeast to head north or south.

The closure allows Kirkland’s Northeast 85th Street Improvements contractor to complete three to four days of work in one day.

The second closure is on Northeast 129th Place, a residential street off 100th Avenue Northeast. That closure begins July 27 and will continue to Aug. 14. Residents will still be able to access their homes through Northeast 127th Place, which turns into 100th Lane Northeast, Northeast 126th Street and 102nd Avenue Northeast.

Kirkland is closing the road while its contractor, Razz Construction replaces a failing rockery along Juanita Creek. The existing rockery has allowed Juanita Creek to seep into the road, which has undermined its structural integrity.
