The Lake Washington High School boys basketball team will play for third in state today at 1 p.m. at the Sun Dome in Yakima. The Kangs lost to to Lynden Friday during the state semifinals, 49-37.
Both teams played good defense on Friday, but Lynden was able to break through during the second quarter to build a 23-18 lead by the half. They then built on that lead throughout the second half.
Lake Washington was led by Kelly Guy with 14 points, Quentin Moore with 10 points and Jeff Stuadacher with nine points.
The Kangs take on Anacortes with the winner finishing the tournament in third and the lose taking home fifth in state.
