The Providence Highlanders boys soccer team is a force to be reckoned with this post season, as made evident by their 7-0 victory against the Christian Faith Eagles during the first round of the Tri-District tournament on Saturday.

Joe Moisant opened up the scoring near the 20th minute by heading a corner kick from central midfielder Landon Butaud into the back of the goal. Moisant ended the day with a hat trick.

Senior Judah Wessel volleyed in the second goal for the Highlanders, immediately pouncing on the ball after it bounced out of the box on a corner. He would finish the match with a pair of goals.

Freshman Bradley Johnson finished a cross from sophomore Justin Hatcher for another goal. The Providence defense, enforced by seniors Wesley Su, Nate Smidt and Matthew Litalien, continued to hold strong by adding another clean sheet to their tally and allowing only a couple of shots-on-goal.

The victory guarantees the Highlanders a spot in the state quarterfinals, but right now their focus falls to their next opponent in the Tri-District Tournament, the Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes.
