The Kirkland Kiwanis Foundation is proud to be able to offer several two-year $2,100 scholarships to graduating seniors within the geographic boundaries of the Lake Washington School District. The scholarships are for those who want to pursue careers in the field of transportation technology. The deadline for submission of applications is April 21.

The scholarship is given in memory of Bill Petter, a well-known Kirkland businessman and long-time member of the Kiwanis Club of Kirkland. More importantly, Petter was a man who gave very generously back to the community, especially in ways intended to benefit children and young people.

Petter passed away in 2011, and thanks to the generosity of the Petter family we are able to offer these scholarships in his name.

Over the years Petter was involved in many facets of the automotive industry, hence our decision to offer a scholarship that focuses on Transportation Technology.

For more information, interested parties can talk with their school counselors or log onto the club’s website at kirkland.kiwanis.org to obtain in-depth information relating to the scholarship and application process or contact club secretary, Matt Gregory, at 425-828-0231.
