The Juanita boys and girls basketball teams both picked up non-conference wins earlier this week.

The Juanita boys team kicked off the team Tuesday night with a game against Mariner, winning 50-39.

The Rebels leading scorer was Devan Jackson, who earned 18 points while shooting 54 percent from the field. Captain Ryan Reid had nine points and sophomore Landyn Milburn added eight to the team’s total.

The Juanita girls played their first game against Eastlake on Wednesday, Nov. 30. The Lady Rebels won 63-58.

Juanita led 15-12 at the end of the first quarter, but Eastlake scored 20 points to Juanita’s 14 in the second to take the lead 32-29 going into the half.

After the break, the Rebels roared back, scoring 17 points in both the third and fourth while holding the Wolves to 13 points.

Captain Molly Grager lead the team with 16 points, while Mikayla Jones had 13 points and Winnie Levitt added 11. Senior and captain Kate Cryderman had nine points, as did Taylor Llyod.

The girls will host Bellevue on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. while the boys will travel to Lake Washington on Dec. 6 for a 7:30 p.m. game.
