Volunteers are needed for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) final simulation drill from 12-8 p.m. on April 25 at the Peter Kirk Community Center in downtown Kirkland. This is the “final exam” for CERT students to demonstrate their search/rescue and first aid skills.

The 24 volunteer “victims,” will be assigned dramatic roles and specific injuries. A professional make-up artist will be on scene to apply moulage make-up and prosthetics to realistically simulate injuries. This is an all-day role. “Victims” are scheduled to arrive between 12:30-2 p.m. and are expected to stay for the duration of the drill, which ends at 8 p.m.

CERT organizers also need five volunteers to set up the facility to make it look like a disaster has occurred. This job will take about an hour and begins at noon.
