Peter Kirk Elementary kids raise $47,239 during Fun Run

The PTSA’s largest fund raiser of the year, this year’s Fun Run raised a record-breaking $47,239 in donations.

The 2010 Fun Run raised more than $41,000.

Parent and community donations allow the PTSA to spend $100 per student and fully fund the following school day programs at Peter Kirk Elementary: accelerated math materials, nature vision science lessons, art lessons by visiting artists, art docent materials, second grade garden, science night materials, classroom grants for teachers, “Green Team” recycling, safety patrol, Egg Drop Competition, outdoor classroom and field trip transportation.
