The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.
Between August 13-19, the Kirkland Police Department reported 276 traffic violations (two DUIs), 21 traffic accidents, 28 noise complaints, five car prowls, 27 alarm calls, eight thefts, four assaults, two harassment call, 10 domestic violence calls, 11 animal control calls, three car thefts, six burglary calls, eight disturbance calls, four calls for malicious mischief and five acts of fraud. At least 22 people were arrested.
August 18
Domestic: 2:10 a.m., 110th Lane N.E. A physical domestic dispute occurred between a father and his juvenile son. The son was arrested for assault and menacing.
Assault: 9 p.m., 100 Park Lane. A 25-year-old Bellevue man was arrested for assault after striking a woman after she refused his sexual and vulgar advances.
August 17
Domestic: 9:13 p.m., 7600 block of 115th Place N.E. A woman called police because she believed her ex-boyfriend has several handguns taken from her house. The man was contacted and will return the guns to the KPD.
August 16
Domestic: 7:30 p.m., 9900 N.E. 124th Street. A boyfriend and girlfriend were involved in an argument. The woman at first wanted police because she stated that the man had hit her but then changed her story. The man was arrested for domestic violence.
Traffic offense: 2:32 p.m., 12200 N.E. 85th Street. A 50-year-old Kirkland man was stopped for a traffic infraction and was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
Property found: 4:25 p.m., 115 N.E. 118th Street. A small amount of marijuana was found unattended in the bathroom by security at Kirkland Municipal Court and submitted for destruction.
August 13
Fraud: 10:30 a.m., 12400 93rd Ave. N.E. A 35-year-old Kirkland woman was contacted by her bank. They informed her that her debit card number had been used in San Diego, Calif. The woman did not authorize and use and she had the only card in her possession.
Assault: 11:50 p.m., 124 Kirkland Ave. An officer responded to a report of a fight in progress in the Central Tavern. When he arrived he saw two male subjects in front of the Central Tavern being treated by aid. The first person appeared to have wounded his hand and the second had a head wound and was bleeding profusely. The man with the wounded hand was ultimately arrested for assault.
DUI: 12:40 p.m., 12800 N.E. 85th Street. A 71-year-old Kirkland man was stopped and arrested for DUI.
