In preparation for the launch of express toll lanes on Interstate 405 Sunday, Sept. 27, Washington State Department of Transportation crews will implement the final striping for the new lanes over the weekend. In order to do that, I-405 will be reduced to one to two lanes throughout the weekend. Several ramps in both directions between Bellevue and Lynwood will close intermittently.
Closure details:
Between 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, to noon Sunday, Sept. 27:
- Two lanes in both directions of I-405 will remain open between the vicinities of south Bellevue and SR 522.
- All Northeast 6th Direct Access Ramps will be closed.
- All Northeast 128th Direct Access Ramps will be closed.
Lane closures:
- Saturday, Sept. 26
o Up to two lanes of northbound I-405 between I-90 and Southeast 8th Street will be closed from 1 to 4 a.m.
o Up to four lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 4th Street and SR 520 will be closed from 1 to 4 a.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 27
o Up to four lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 4th Street and Northeast 116th Street will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m.
o Up to four lanes of southbound I-405 between SR 522 and SR 520 will be closed from 2 to 5 a.m.
o Up to four lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 195th Street and SR 522 will be closed from midnight to 2 a.m.
Ramp closures:
- Saturday, Sept. 26
o The northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 116th Street will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 27
o The southbound I-405 ramp to SR 520 will be closed from midnight to 2 a.m.
o The southbound I-405 ramps to eastbound and westbound SR 522 will be closed midnight to 2 a.m.
