Do you know about the Kirkland Heritage Society? If you are a recent new citizen in Kirkland, it occupies a handsome building at the foot of Market Street in downtown Kirkland. The organization has a wonderful collection of remembrances of our past, plus a talented volunteer group of leaders to facilitate an increasing historical usage of our citizens.
Do you know about Chris Neir? For 40 years, her husband, Bob, served as a leader in the community as mayor and chairman of Metropolitan King County. He also had an eminent career with Boeing’s commercial airline company. Chris was the supporter who kept him in ironed shirts and directed the growth of their four sons. They accomplished many other goals as a husband-wife team.
Her life came to an untimely end within the past year and her family has contributed funding to the Kirkland Heritage Society for a scholarship for a senior from one of our two local high schools. Do you want to share in this funding? It’s a great opportunity for your dollars to help inspire a budding local high school senior. Drop by the KHS, from 2-5 p.m. Wednesdays, or call and leave a message at 425-827-3446.
