Last weekend I was in town with my son and my sister to help my son get ready for the next semester at Cascadia/UW.
While I was getting coffee at the Starbucks on 124th and 113th very early Sunday morning, I managed to spill a venti soy latte all over myself. As I sadly watched it steam in the parking lot, three people standing nearby rushed over to help.
One gentleman got me a rag, another asked a Starbuck’s employee for a replacement and all three asked how they could help.
Although I felt pretty klutzy, I was really warmed by the kindness of strangers and the Starbuck’s baristas.
After everything was put back in order, one of the Kind 3 said, “I hope the rest of your day is better.”
Honestly, spilling that coffee turned out to be a good thing as I got a chance to see the kindness of strangers and the goodness of the people of Kirkland.
Thank you Kirkland strangers. I too will pay it forward.
