The Lake Washington softball team earned a victory Monday, 4-3, against league rival Ballard at Crestwoods Park.
The Kangs opened the game by scoring a single run during the bottom of the first inning. Lake Washington added to that advantage during the bottom of the fifth with another run. But the pressure was on the defense and pitcher Sara Aasness, who pitched a complete game while overcoming four errors by the fielders. Aasness compiled 10 strikeouts during the contest.
The Beavers got on the scoreboard during the sixth to cut the lead to 2-1. Ballard would take the lead during the top of the seventh with two more runs. But that lead would be short lived as the Kang offense came through during the bottom of the seventh with two runs.
On offense the Kangs were led by Audrey Sundene who had the game winning two RBI double during the final at bat of the game. Elsa Moyer was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Kangs. The win gives Lake Washington a 3-2 record on the young season.
