The Washington Fire Chiefs endorsed Senator Andy Hill for re-election in a top tier race for the State Senate. Hill is recognized as a supporter of public safety in the legislature for protecting the state’s commitment to provide for those who serve the community.

“Our community firefighters put their lives at risk for us and it will be especially important to work together to protect them in the upcoming budget discussion,” Hill said.

As Chair of Ways and Means, Hill worked with firefighter advocates to maintain the state’s commitments to those who serve while passing a long-term sustainable budget. Hill has already been endorsed by the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS), Washington State Patrol Troopers Association, King County Corrections Guild, and Law Enforcement Officers & Firefighters 1 Coalition.

Hill, a PTA dad and soccer coach with deep roots in the community, was first elected in 2010 and is currently Chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee and a member of the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Committee. His leadership increased funding for K-12 education, stopped college tuition increases, and provided services for thousands of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Hill is a former Microsoft manager and Harvard Business School graduate. He lives in Redmond with his wife and three children.
