The Juanita girls tennis team lost to Liberty to start the season, but not by much. The Patriots earned a narrow 4-3 victory by dominating singles play.
Rebel Maria Jouravelva earned a victory at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, against Audrey Motto, but that was it for the team’s success one-on-one.
Juanita’s No. 2 player, Michelle Brown, put on a show during the first set, winning 6-4, but got swept 6-3, 6-1 to finish out the match.
In doubles action, the Rebels earned two wins, including a straight-sets victory for the No. 3 team of Alanda Hilborn and Lucy Weber, 6-2, 6-1.
Juanita’s No. 2 team of Anna Ludvigsen and Shelby Hill won 6-4, 7-6 (7).
The Rebels will play at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at Sammamish High School.
