To compile the rankings the editors at CreditDonkey.com, a credit card comparison and financial education website for families, analyzed five key factors including: odds of being a victim of a violent crime, average commute time, average income, the percentage of residents who attended some college and the number of restaurants per capita.

The 10 best cities were identified as: Redmond, Oak Harbor, Issaquah, Bothell, Lacey, Kirkland, Bellevue, Edmonds, Richland and Spokane Valley.
