The Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association boys U17 Pirates team recently finished in second place at the state recreational cup in early December.

The team, comprised of students from the Kirkland and Redmond area, have largely played together since first grade. The Pirates also were the District 2 champions in their age group for the last four of five years.

In the state tournament in Tukwila at the Starfire Complex the Pirates took second place after losing to the Rockets 4-3.
