Lake Washington High School Robotics Club wins state robotics championship

The Lake Washington High School Robotics Club won the Washington State VEX Robotics Championship. The top 35 teams in the state competed for state honors and nine invitations to the VRC World Championships.

The Lake Washington High School Robotics Club won the Washington State VEX Robotics Championship. The top 35 teams in the state competed for state honors and nine invitations to the VRC World Championships. All three Lake Washingon teams 4770, 4770A and 4770X placed in the top eight in preliminaries. Team 4770 went on to win top honors as “Tournament Champions” and earn their berth in the “Worlds.”

The other two teams were eliminated in the second round of the quarter finals. This team has three regular team members: senior Steve Anton, graduate and mentor Gordon Walsh, senior Jacob Wall and two apprentice members: freshmen Abbad Vakil and Archan Rupela.

This is the second year in a row that team 4770 has represented Lake Washington High School at the World Championships. The World championships will draw over 400 teams and 15,000 contestants from around the world.
