Kathy dela Cruz, a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, has been named Postmaster in Kirkland. She succeeds Don Hatch who is the new Postmaster in Everett.
Dela Cruz began her postal career as a clerk in the Mercer Island Post Office in February 1989. Her first management assignment was as a Customer Service supervisor in Auburn in 1996. She was appointed acting manager, Customer Service in 1999 at the Federal Way Station. In 2004 she was named manager, Customer Service at the Twin Lakes Station, also in Federal Way. Since August 2008 she has been manager, Customer Service in Renton.
Being the Postmaster in Kirkland will be very challenging, “but I am ready for it,” dela Cruz said. “Previous Kirkland postmasters have provided great customer service to the community. I will try to maintain that service standard and hopefully improve on it by capitalizing on opportunities that become available.”
