Between Dec. 16-21, the Kirkland Police Department reported 254 traffic violations (one DUI), 19 traffic accidents, 10 noise complaints, 15 thefts, six domestic violence, 13 alarms, 15 motor vehicle prowls, one car theft, two burglaries, 11 disturbances, four cases of fraud, six harassment call and four cases of abuse. At least 32 people were arrested.

Dec. 21

Suspicious event: 9:34 a.m., 100 Lake Avenue. A Kirkland resident noticed a van parked across the street with two men inside idling for 20 minutes. The reporting party checked with neighbors and no one was expecting anyone. Reporting party believed that they may be casing a residence for a burglary.

Domestic: 12:32 p.m., 11800 block of 15th Ave. N.E. An employee at Seattle Vet reported that a man had come into the lobby, threw a pen at her and demanded to see his dog. A verbal altercation took place with the employee and then the manager. The man left the premises and was contacted by police in the parking lot of Fred Meyer.

Dec. 20

Car prowl: 9 p.m., 12800 block of N.E. 124th St. Chrystler Jeep of Kirkland reported an unidentified suspect entered the northeast area of the unsecured sales parking lot and committed theft of four after-market wheels and tires from a dark green 2000 Hummer H1.

Traffic: 2:28 p.m., 11450 Totem Lake West. A 53-year-old Kirkland man, driving in a reckless manner, lost control of his 2007 Corvette in the intersection of north bound 120th Ave. N.E. and N.E. 124th St. The Corvette subsequently jumped the sidewalk and almost struck a pedestrian as it went through the bushes of an AM/PM and into the parking lot. The man then turned the car around and drove back into the the bushes before coming to a stop.

Malicious mischief: 7:30 p.m., 300 Central Way. A large dining room window was mysteriously broken. No witnesses saw the event take place.

Dec. 19

Domestic: 100 block of Third Place. A 48-year-old Kirkland woman called police when she got into a verbal altercation with her 20-year-old son. The two were arguing over who got to use the computer at the residence. Upon arrival the male had left and the woman was upset that the officers showed up despite asking dispatch not to respond.

Forgery: 10400 block of Northup Way. The manager of Big Fish Grill reported that a white female in her 20s called and made a to-go order. Upon arriving at the restaurant, she attempted to pay for the food with an alleged counterfeit $100 bill. Upon being questioned about the bill a male that was with her paid for the food with a credit card. Management did not keep the bill and had limited information on the two suspects.

Dec. 18

Trespass: 10000 block of N.E. 130th Ln. A 12-year-old Kirkland girl was at home with her sister when she observed two males standing on her back porch. The two males then attempted to open the sliding door. She called her mother and then 911. Upon arrival an officer located a 15 and a 16 year old, both male, sitting on a neighbor’s porch. They jumped to the wrong porch and tried to open the sliding door.

Theft: 8:30 p.m., 300 Central Way. A 16-year-old Kirkland girl reported that her iPod Touch was stolen from her boyfriend’s backpack. Her boyfriend had left the backpack unattended for a short amount of time while at the transit center. The boyfriend later located the backpack behind the Pancake House in ParkPlace Center.

Dec. 17

Car prowl: 10 p.m., 1000 block of Fourth Street. A woman reported that her Chrystler Sebring was entered during the night and rummaged through. Nothing was missing from the car and there was no damage.

Theft: 12900 block of 126th Pl. A Ford F350 had its license plates stolen.
