In reading “Bias Media Coverage” by Don McConaghy, I couldn’t help but feel his frustration much like the rest of us. We all know the game isn’t the Democrats versus Republicans; it is the 1 percent of the wealthy population who owns the government versus the other 99 percent of the population who has nothing but a single vote each.
This phenomenon is true at the federal, state, county and city levels.
So, take a look at the City of Kirkland and the Kirkland City Council:
• They annexed 38,000 people who didn’t want to be annexed;
• They signed a seven-year contract with Waste Management that will only cost us 3-4 percent a year increase without any citizen input; and
• They favor having two “high income toll lanes on I-405” so the rest of us can drive on the shoulder and share the road with the semi-trucks.
We don’t have to travel to Washington DC to find Mr. McConaghy’s frustration – we have it here in Kirkland.
