The Northwest University (NU) women broke open a close game with four second half goals as the Eagles defeated Warner Pacific, 5-0, for their eighth straight Cascade Conference victory.

The Northwest University (NU) women broke open a close game with four second half goals as the Eagles defeated Warner Pacific, 5-0, for their eighth straight Cascade Conference victory.

Tatyana Reveles scored what proved to be the game winner in the sevnth minute as she dribbled past a defender on the left side and scored from 15-yards out. That would be the only score of the half as the defenses held one another in check.

NU’s Kelsey Greene then scored on a penalty kick in the 49th minute after a foul in the box for the 2-0 Eagle lead. At the 61:51 mark, Tiffany Taylor took Acacia Johnson’s cross from the right side and put her shot in from the middle six-yards out. Annie-Brynn Gleason then scored after the third blocked shot in the 83rd minute as she followed up with her shot and put it past the Warner Pacific goalkeeper.

Acacia Johnson then scored the final goal of the game at the 84:07 mark taking Kelsey Greene’s through ball on the right side, beat her defender and finished just inside the 18-yard mark.

Patty Hughes (Kalispell, Mont.) earned the shutout for Northwest U (10-5-1, 8-0 CCC) with four saves in goal while Warner Pacific (7-8-2, 4-3-1 CCC) keeper, Allie Holterman, had four saves for the Knights.
