The City of Kirkland’s Green Codes Project is the city’s latest sustainability effort, which proposes regulations that would encourage more “green” infrastructure, reduce stormwater runoff, and promote energy efficiency.
A public hearing will be held jointly with the Planning Commission and Houghton Community Council to receive comment from residents, developers, and interested parties about the proposed zoning, building and water quality codes that are intended to provide incentives for sustainable design and construction.
The incentives ultimately result in better protection of water, energy, and material resources.
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at 7 p.m., Kirkland City Hall, Council Chambers, 123 5th Avenue.
