Lake Washington freshman Katie Cross had a solid showing at the KingCo swimming finals on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo.
Cross swam a state-qualifying time in the 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle and a district-qualifying time in the 50 freestyle.
Katie Wehrman swam a district-qualifying time in the 200 freestyle.
The Kangs are also hoping to qualify relay teams for the state championships at the district meet, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, Nov. 4 at Mary Wayte Pool on Mercer Island, with finals the next day.
Juanita sophomore Victoria Truswell, junior Tova Andersson and junior Maja Evans swam district-qualifying times in the 200 freestyle.
Evans also qualified in the 50 freestyle, Truswell qualified in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle, and Andersson qualified in the 500 freestyle. Alyson Zackula swam a district-qualifying time in the 100 freestyle.
Juanita’s Samantha Haong swam a district-qualifying time in the 200 individual medley. Wing Yun Au swam a district-qualifying time in the 100 backstroke.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Haong, Evans, Truswell and Andersson finished fourth in 1 minute, 43.35 seconds.
Lake Washington divers Audrey Arnold, Joeli Pence, Katie Lymberis and Brittany Blaskovich also qualified for the district meet.
