Sophomore Sakky Yoshida scored in the 44th minute for the Kangs (5-2 KingCo, 6-2-1), helping Lake Washington beat Mercer Island for the first time since the 2014 season.

The Kangs have won their last two matches, and trail Bellevue in the conference standings.

Next, Lake Washington is scheduled to continue conference play on Oct. 6 at Interlake High School. The Saints are 0-6-1 against 3A/2A KingCo teams.

Bellevue 7, Juanita 0.

League-leading Bellevue dealt Juanita its toughest blow of the season on Tuesday at Bergh Field in Kirkland.

Juanita (1-3-3, 2-3-4) failed to score for the fourth time this year and allowed seven goals — a season high.
