The Eastside’s own Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra will hold a garden tour on June 26 as part of the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.
The tour, which features three private gardens and a light reception at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, is the third annual fundraiser to support the LWSO. The orchestra re-formed in 2013 following a five-year hiatus.
At each of the private gardens, which remain secret unless one buys a ticket, select members of the orchestra will perform in small chamber groups.
“We’ve got some fabulous gardens,” said Martha Garrett, the tour’s coordinator. “The gardens we have are a little slice of heaven.”
Garrett spoke highly of the garden in Issaquah — huge, English and very special — but declined to give away too many details.
The gardens, by designer Dan Borroff and landscape architect Darwin Webb, are open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 26. The reception, which includes light refreshments, wine and more chamber music, runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and can be bought online through Brown Paper Tickets, over the phone or by mail.
For more information, see the orchestra’s website at www.lwso.org.
The orchestra has several other events on the horizon: a fall fundraiser on Sept. 10 at the Bravern in Bellevue, and the fall concert on Nov. 5 at Westminster Chapel.
