The following statement was issued by the City of Kirkland on behalf of Kirkland Mayor Amy Walen:
The City of Kirkland was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of State Sen. Andy Hill. He was a dedicated legislator who made a quiet, but profound mark on our city, our district, and on our State.
Others will appropriately recall the many State accomplishments of Senator Hill. But he has left an enduring legacy for Kirkland as well.
When our residents walk along the beauty of the Cross Kirkland Corridor or exit I-405 at the soon to be built 132nd Street ramps, they should pause and remember Senator Hill for helping make those investments happen. Senator Hill was a man with a keen intellect, a deep kindness, a strong work ethic, a focus on results, and a passion to be of service to others. On behalf of the City, we send our condolences to the Hill family.
Senator Hill was a wonderful friend to the City of Kirkland and he will be greatly missed.
