Kirkland’s LWTech program ranks No. 1 in Washington for student performance

Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech), the only public institute of technology in Washington state, was ranked No. 1 on the Top 10 Providers Achieving Level Gains in Washington state for its Adult Basic Education program by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges' Winter Quarter Performance report for 2015-2016.

“It is an honor to have our Adult Basic Education program ranked best in the state again in terms of student performance,” said LWTech President Dr. Amy Morrison Goings. “We are pleased to offer these affordable programs that help people transform their lives and improve their chances of getting a job. They also have the option to continue their education with our college through our many certificates, associate, and bachelor’s degrees.”

LWTech’s Adult Basic Education program serves 1200 students annually. This includes students in six levels of English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education. The Adult High School Completion program gives those ages 21 and older the opportunity to earn credits for work and life experience while working toward a high school diploma. All classes are also available in hybrid format (part online, part in-class) and through independent study.
