The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between June 9-15, there were 177 traffic incidents, 20 traffic accidents, four DUIs, 31 general traffic incidents, 10 incidents involving illegal drugs, 45 alarm calls, 17 abandoned vehicles, seven burglaries, 12 incidents of fraud, 14 civil incidents, 14 cases of harassment, 19 thefts, nine vehicle prowls, two vehicle thefts, 17 warrants served, 20 noise complaints, one animal call, eight incidents of domestic violence, two fireworks complaints, five disturbances and one sex offense.
June 9
Domestic: 1:19 p.m., 12100 block of 106th Ave. NE; A 28-year-old man was taken into custody for assault in the 4th degree, domestic violence, after getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend on June 7. Injuries to the girlfriend were still visible.
Assault: 9 p.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; A 22-year-old man was booked on assault in the 4th degree after he assaulted his cell mate, a 24-year-old man, at the Kirkland Police Department.
June 10
Assault: 1:55 a.m., 12000 block of NE 128th St.; A 21-year-old Everett man came into the EvergreenHealth emergency room seeking treatment for a skateboarding injury. The man was highly intoxicated and on drugs. The man fought with hospital security staff and had to be Tased by a Kirkland police officer. The man was arrested for assault.
Warrant arrest: 10:45 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; A 26-year-old Sammamish man was contacted at the Juanita Safeway with another man, who left on foot prior to police contact. The first man was found to have a felony warrant from King County Sheriffs for Theft of a Firearm, Identity Theft and Trafficking stolen property. As the first man was arrested, he identified the second subject, a 30-year-old Snohomish man, who had multiple warrants. The second man was not located, but the Sammamish man was transported to King County jail.
June 11
Theft: 12:20 p.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE; A 58-year-old man attempted to steal DVDs from Costco. When loss prevention staff attempted to stop him, he pushed and ran away. The man was located by an officer, told he was under arrest and resisted. The man was arrested for 3rd degree theft, 4th degree assault and resisting arrest.
June 12
Domestic: 10:51 p.m., 9800 block of NE 122nd St.; Kirkland police responded to a 911 hang up with sounds of an obvious verbal disturbance in the background. A 51-year-old woman and her 25-year-old daughter admitted to having a verbal argument. The mother wanted her daughter to leave for the night being disrespectful. The daughter was subsequently arrested for her $2,600 Indecent Exposure warrant out of Renton and transferred to the custody of Renton police.
Warrant arrest: 11:25 p.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; A 23-year-old Seattle man was arrested by Bothell police on his $350 Kirkland warrant for driving with a suspended license. He was transported to the Brickyard Park and Ride, where Kirkland police took custody without incident.
June 14
Theft: 11:14 a.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE; A 56-year-old Bothell woman was arrested after attempting to steal a Fitbit smart watch from Costco.
