EvergreenHealth to consider expanding board of commissioners

EvergreenHealth, one of the eastside's largest employers serving residents in Kirkland, Bothell and Kenmore, will consider placing a proposition on the August ballot which would expand its board of comissioners from five to seven board members. The consideration is scheduled for the board's regular meeting on April 19.

EvergreenHealth, one of the eastside’s largest employers serving residents in Kirkland, Bothell and Kenmore, will consider placing a proposition on the August ballot which would expand its board of comissioners from five to seven board members. The consideration is scheduled for the board’s regular meeting on April 19.

King County Public Hospital District No. 2 holds nearly 300,000 residents and includes nearly one million residents in its service area, a far more busy system than when the five-member board was established in 1967, when the district housed around 22,000 residents, according to a EvergreenHealth release.

The current board has three members representing specific areas, with two at-large members. Rebecca Hirt represents Kirkland and Kenmore, R. August Kempf represents Redmond and Sammamish and Al DeYong represents Bothell, Woodenville and Duvall.

Public comment on the proposal will be taken at 6:35 p.m. on April 19 at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland.
