The Providence Classical Christian Highlanders went 12-1 on the season and placed second in the district tournament.

The Highlanders attended the tri-district tournament and faced Evergreen Luthern during the first round. The Highlanders came back during the third set, down almost 10 points, and came within two points of a win. Both teams battled and played strong, but it was Evergreen that came out on top 3-0.

During the second round of tournament, the Highlanders faced Neah Bay. The Neah Bay team had a particularly strong server, who helped her team come back from a 10-point deficit to win the first set. The Highlanders, particularly freshman libero Claire Lyshol and senior middle blocker Bailey Robertstad, who had several blocks and kills in the game, were able to fend off some of the strong swings by another of the Neah Bay players.

The Highlanders clawed their way back into the game and won the third set but ultimately lost to Neah Bay, 4-1.

Freshman outside hitter Jenna Jenkins had to play on a sprained ankle and wasn’t able to stay in play for much of the game, so sophomore outside hitter Samry Besrat stepped in and upped her game for the injured Jenkins.

Players who also had a big impact were senior setter Lauren Haft, junior Olivia Hatcher, and sophomore Jade Dellamore, who served well, while junior outside hitter Lindsey Litalien played well. Sophomore middle blocker Madi Marshall rose to the occasion with several kills of her own.

As the season came to a close for the league champs, many tears were shed. Seniors Lauren Haft, (injured) Reyna Lacalli, and Bailey Robertstad also helped to contribute to the success of the team.
