Between Feb. 11-17, the Kirkland Police Department reported 322 traffic violations (12 DUIs), 20 thefts, 18 vehicle prowls, 17 assaults, 16 alarm calls and 12 welfare inquiries. At least 52 people were arrested.
Feb. 11
Business burglary: 4 a.m., 11500 block of 124th Ave. N.E. Five businesses in a strip mall were allegedly burglarized by two men, last seen fleeing east on foot. Investigators recovered several sets of fingerprints and photographed footprints, tool marks and holes in the walls at the crime scene. The suspects had broken through the adjoining sheet-rock walls to access the businesses.
Domestic violence: 4:33 p.m., 1500 block of 11th Avenue. An unidentified person was arrested for assault at this location. The incident is still under investigation.
Feb. 12
Disturbance: 11 p.m., 200 block Park Lane. Local resident Matthew Tyree, 32, was arrested for driving with a suspended license after police stopped him on suspicion of creating a disturbance at Rock Star Tan. His vehicle was impounded and he was banned from the business for a year.
Feb. 13
Indecent exposure: 5:17 p.m., 10900 block of N.E. 66th Place. Working in the second-floor office of his home, a resident looked out the window and spotted a white male in his 20s masturbating in the street. A police search was unable to locate the suspect.
Shoplifting: 5:30 p.m., 12221 120th Ave. N.E. Fred Meyer security guards detained and police later arrested resident Jason Brede, 27, after he attepted to steal Shaun White Snowboarding, a video game. The store recovered the merchandise, valued at $59.99, and Brede was cited and released.
Feb. 14
Underage drinking: 7 p.m., 11000 block of 124th Lane. Hosting a party at his apartment, 18-year-old Zachary Ehli was allegedly assaulted by a guest after he attempted to remove several other partygoers from his apartment. Police arrived to find the domicile empty, but determined Ehli was intoxicated and placed him under arrest for underage drinking.
Feb. 15
Disorderly conduct: Police used tasers to subdue two men for starting a fight outside the Lake Street Grill. Bellevue residents Anthony Orlando, 21, and Audie La Pier, 25, were arrested for disorderly conduct. La Pier was cited with obstruction after he gave a false name to police.
Feb. 17
Controlled substance: 11:05 a.m., 12400 block of Totem Lake Blvd. N.E. Someone was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
