Kirkland’s 4th of July event shined | Letter

Kirkland’s 4th of July celebration was another grand success and was broadly touted as the most successful in the 14-year history of Celebrate Kirkland.

It seemed like everyone in Kirkland was either in the parade or watching it and the full day of community celebration, up to and including the fabulous fireworks display, kicked off our summer in style.

Many thanks go to the major sponsors of the event: Lee Johnson Auto Family, the city of Kirkland and NYTEC. Their financial support, along with contributions by Fairfax Hospital, Wave Broadband, Astronics, Overlake Oil, The Grape Choice, Ford and Hyundai of Kirkland, Hector’s, Milagro Cantina, the Heathman Hotel, Casino Caribbean, Bob’s Heating and Air Conditioning and the Rotary Club of Kirkland, allowed us to celebrate Kirkland and our nations birthday with panache.

Many thanks also go to the members of the team who worked so hard to put the day together: Maureen Baskin, Julie Barnett, Bob Buck, Nancy Demond, Terri Fletcher, Elke Grimm, Natalie Higgins, Kellie Jordan, Megan Nakanishi and Cherie Skagers, and to the hundreds of volunteers who made the day happen.

Kirkland shined again.
