The Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirkland will host Early Music Guild’s performance of Classical Oboe Quartet at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 10.

The oboe quartet, perhaps one of the more unusual and uncommon chamber genres, enjoyed a small amount of success in the 18th century. A number of notable composers wrote for oboe and string trios, and this program will survey some of the loveliest gems of this repertoire. Curtis Foster, Classical oboe, will be joined by violinist Linda Melsted, violist Laurel Wells, and cellist Meg Brennand for quartets by Karl Stamitz and W.A. Mozart, a period instrument premiere by Bohemian composer Pavel Masek, and a string trio by Mozart’s friend, Joseph Leopold Eybler.

Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased here.
