Northwest University’s Jonathan Ferguson took first place in the men’s 1,500-meter run on Saturday at the 34th annual Ralph Vernacchia Open Meet in Civic Stadium.

Ferguson also met the NAIA B standard qualifying time, just missing the “A” standard by just .04 seconds. His time of 3-minutes, 54.54-seconds is the second best 1,500-meter time in school history.
Northwest University is based in Kirkland.
