I can’t support CKC options for transit | Letter

While I believe (and support) forward thinking around public transportation is a critical part of planning for Kirkland's growth, I also believe we need to be mindful of offering our residents, visitors and employees to escape the hustle and enjoy the trail the epitomizes a part of our Northwest culture.

While I believe (and support) forward thinking around public transportation is a critical part of planning for Kirkland’s growth, I also believe we need to be mindful of offering our residents, visitors and employees to escape the hustle and enjoy the trail the epitomizes a part of our Northwest culture.

I also believe the stated objective of helping the Eastside and Kirkland manage its projected growth would be best served by implementing a BRP (Bus Rapid Transit) program better suited to the Eastside, which would be on the 405 rather than the CKC (Cross Kirkland Corridor).

In an attempt to be a good steward of our funding as well, I absolutely believe that the value received, relative to the spend, is best achieved with a BRP on the 405.

For all of these reasons I could support that (the E-02 solution) with both my voice and my vote, but not the CKC options.
