The Kirkland Woman’s Club held their regular luncheon and meeting in January.
A “baby shower” theme was followed, with club members donating clothing and other baby items. The Layette Committee, headed by Shari Cassara and Habiba Swailem, assembles these into layette bags, which are donated three times a year to North Shore Public Health for distribution under the WIC program.
TKWC was fortunate to have as their speaker Sue White, an RN on the staff of North Shore Public Health. This organization serves approximately 2,000 clients.
Their work includes: reviewing client needs, providing prenatal care when
required, as well as offering clothing and other essentials. They also follow the infant’s progress for one year.
If you are looking for ways to be involved in community service, the club invites you to join them for lunch to learn more about the organization. If interested, please contact their co-president, Joie Goodwin, at 425-829-7720.
