Patient throws cup of soup at nurse at EvergreenHealth, no charges filed | Kirkland police blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.

Between Nov. 3 – Nov. 8, there were 89 traffic incidents, 24 traffic accidents, three DUIs, 25 general traffic incidents, seven incidents involving illegal drugs, 30 alarm calls, seven abandoned vehicles, five burglaries, seven incidents of fraud, seven civil incidents, five cases of harassment, 11 thefts, 17 vehicle prowls, four vehicle thefts, eight warrants served, eight noise complaints, three animal calls, five incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 20 disturbances, one sex offense, eight hit and runs and 18 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Nov. 2

Hit-and-run: 11 a.m., 2300 block of Carillon Point; A 64-year-old Sammamish man was arrested for hit-and-run after video evidence showed him backing into a vehicle belonging to a 49-year-old Issaquah man, checking for damage and then leaving without giving contact information.

Nov. 3

Domestic: 10:50 p.m., 11600 block of 91st Lane NE; An argument over a piece of mail escalated until a 26-year-old man tackled his 34-year-old ex-girlfriend to the ground, causing her injuries. The man was later tracked down and arrested for 4th-degree assault, DV.

Assault: 11:23 p.m., 10500 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 46-year-old Duvall man was charged with 4th-degree assault after he tried punching his friend, a 31-year-old Kirkland man, and scratching his arms. The man was extremely drunk and started trying to harm himself by throwing his body into furnature outside and breaking lightbulbs on himself. The man was admitted to EvergreenHealth.

Nov. 4

Domestic: 4:46 p.m., 12800 block of 111th Ave. NE; A 27-year-old woman and her ex-boyfriend — as of Nov. 3, the police report notes — got into an argument over the 27-year-old man’s recent relapse into drinking. The man assaulted the woman, and was then arrested and booked into Kirkland Jail.

Nov. 5

Warrants: 10:45 p.m., 13700 block of 100th Ave. NE; Officers found a 28-year-old Lake Forest Park man on the backside of Forget Me Not Consignment. The man was found to have a Bothell warrant for possession of stolen property with bail set at $2,600.

Nov. 6

Domestic: 12:44 p.m., 12200 block of NE 116th St.; A 38-year-old man from Bronx, New York got into a verbal fight with his ex-wife, a 45-year-old Bothell woman, and hit her in the face in the parking lot of the Baymont Inn. The man was taken into custody and charged with 4th-degree assault, DV.

Assault: 3:18 p.m., 12000 block of NE 128th St.; Security at EvergreenHealth called to report a nurse was assaulted when an involuntary patient threw a cup of soup on her. The nurse was not injured in any way, and did not want to pursue charges.

Disorderly conduct: 11:43 p.m., 14200 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 24-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a scene and trying to fight people at the Kingsgate Meadow Apartments.

Nov. 7

Warrants: 6 a.m., 11700 block of Slater Ave. NE; Officers stopped a 25-year-old Mill Creek man in traffic and arrested him on his warrant for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Warrants: 8:54 a.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; A 42-year-old Sultan woman was arrested on her outstanding theft warrant.

DUI: 6:30 p.m., 3700 block of Lake Washington Blvd. NE; A 60-year-old woman drove into the back of a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man while he was stopped at a red light. The woman fled to her apartment without exchanging info. The woman was contacted and arrested for DUI and Hit & Run, and provided a sample of .248 and .238. The woman had a prior DUI conviction.

Nov. 8

Warrants: 10:48 p.m., 11300 block of NE 116th St.; A 31-year-old Everett man was arrested on his outstanding DOC warrant for escaping community custody following a traffic stop.
