Nine Kirkland-area students were selected as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition, including students at Kirkland’s International Community School and Lake Washington High School, and Kirkland residents attending Tesla STEM High School in Redmond.
Along with students at Redmond and Eastlake high schools, these students are qualified to receive National Merit Scholarships, corporate-sponsored scholarships or college-sponsored scholarships. Across Lake Washington School District, 24 students earned finalist status.
Students qualified for these awards by completing the 2015 Preliminary SAT or the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. For a full list of finalists, district-wide, visit www.lwsd.org.
