The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.

Between March 9-15, there were 798 total incidents, including 128 traffic incidents, 25 traffic accidents, five DUIs, 27 general traffic incidents, four incidents involving illegal drugs, 31 alarm calls, six abandoned vehicles, six burglaries, 11 incidents of fraud, 17 civil incidents, eight cases of harassment, 22 thefts, 17 vehicle prowls, six vehicle theft, six warrants served, 14 noise complaints, four animal calls, 14 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 10 disturbances, five sex offenses, no hit and runs and 27 incidents involving at least one arrest.

March 8

Burglary: 10 p.m., 14100 block of 73rd Pl. NE. A Kirkland female called to report her house was burglarized sometime between 10 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. A 55-inch TV and several size seven shoes were taken from the residence. The victim said the house was locked but her keys for the apartment were stolen about a month ago. There were no signs of forced entry and no suspects at this time.

Robbery: 7 p.m., 11800 97th Ave. NE. A Kirkland female reported being assaulted by at least two people, one of which tried to steal her dog, while walking from Juanita Park to her apartment. The primary suspect is a white female, approximately 21 years of age, about 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds, with waist length platinum blonde hair.

March 9

Domestic: 9 a.m., 12600 block of NE 95th St. Female called police after an argument with her husband. The argument carried outside when the husband yelled at his wife to leave. Kirkland police determined that no crime was committed.

Domestic: 12 a.m., 14200 block of 112th Ave. NE. Kirkland police contacted the reporting party, who said he was in a verbal argument with his girlfriend of four years. The man and woman live together with their 1-year-old child. The woman said at one point the man locked her out of the house. The case was determined to be only verbal and no crime was committed.

March 10

Illegal drugs: 10:21 a.m., 11700 block of 93rd Ave. NE. The landlord for the residence called police with concerns that a tenant had crack cocaine in the residence and was flushing vials of the substance down the toilet. A repeated plumbing issues revealed the the vials trapped in the plumbing line. The tenant was evicted from the residence but there was not enough evidence to arrest the suspect.

Domestic: 2:56 p.m., 13800 block of Juanita Woodinville Dr. NE. Kirkland police responded after a witnessed observed a woman and her boyfriend of five months arguing along the roadway. The man was seen grabbing the woman and trying to pull her into his vehicle. Upon speaking with both they admitted they had been arguing but that nothing physical took place. The man apologized for trying grab the woman’s arm arm. Police determine that no crime took place.

Assist: 3:13 p.m., 4000 block of Lake Washington Blvd. NE. The reporting party stated that she thought a light pole within the complex had fallen over due to a recent wind storm. Officers determined that the pole was only damaged and it was because a vehicle backed into it. Property manager was contacted by police.

Soliciting: 3:27 p.m., 100th Ave. NE and NE 132nd St. The reporting party called police stating that a woman with a stroller was soliciting for money with a sign. Police contacted the woman and found no baby in the stroller.

Assist: 4:29 p.m., 5800 block of Lake Washington Blvd. A woman called police and stated that $50 fell out of her pocket while at Houghton Park and a man picked it up and walked away. The woman was able to identify the man but police were unable to contact him.

March 15

Trespass: 11:53 p.m., 14400 block of 123rd Ln. NE. A 34-year-old Kirkland man was trespassed from an apartment at the request of the resident on March 15 and the suspect stated that he would return. On March 16 the suspect was contacted after he attempted to enter the unit through the back door. The man was arrested and transported to the Kirkland jail.
