The three-way log jam atop the 4A KingCo Crown Division became a little more tight Tuesday, as Woodinivlle avenged an early-season loss to Inglemoor 74-61, and Lake Washington won at Roosevelt 61-53. All three teams are back to being tied with 9-6 records in league play.
The win by Woodinville gives them a split of each of the two-game series played against both Lake Washington and Inglemoor. The Kangs defeated Inglemoor earlier this season, 55-53, and have chance to knock the Vikings from the title picture all together when the two teams meet Friday at Lake Washington, with the game tiping off at 8 p.m., while Woodinville will play at Bothell.
If any of the three teams lose Friday they will fall to 9-7 and out of the title picture. A Lake Washington win and Woodinville loss will give the Kangs the Crown Division title after winning just four in-league games last season.
Lake Washington got their win at Roosevelt Tuesday thanks to the hot hand of Dallas Searles, as the senior guard scored 24 points.
Roosevelt utilized a home-court advantage to pull out to a three-point lead after one quarter of play, but the Kangs went on a big run to take a 33-28 lead into halftime. The Roughriders cut into the lead during the third quarter, but Searles helped to push the Kangs over the top during a 17-12 fourth quarter. Darien Nelson-Henry scored 12 points for Lake Washington.
Of the three teams challenging for the Crown Division title, Lake Washington has the best overall record at 13-6.
