The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.

From March 30 through April 5, there were 785 total incidents, including 121 traffic incidents, 15 traffic accidents, one DUI, 35 general traffic incidents, six incidents involving illegal drugs, 42 alarm calls, eight abandoned vehicles, two burglaries, 17 incidents of fraud, 15 civil incidents, five cases of harassment, 18 thefts, 22 vehicle prowls, seven vehicle thefts, seven warrants served, eight noise complaints, six animal calls, 10 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 15 disturbances, two sex offenses, five hit and run and 24 incidents involving at least one arrest.

March 30

Assault: 6:10 p.m., 12300 block of 134th Ct. NE. A 50-year-old Redmond man was allegedly cut off by a 22-year-old driver in traffic, nearly causing an accident. The Redmond man then followed the younger driver, and when they came to a stop, confronted him. The Redmond man then punched the other man’s vehicle and then punched the younger man in the face. The Redmond driver was arrested.

Domestic: 9:27 p.m., 9500 block NE 120th St. A 27-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested after assaulting her boyfriend and booked into jail.

March 31

Malicious mischief: 3:54 p.m., 11800 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 19-year-old Kirkland man was arrested after spray painting graffiti on the Cross Kirkland Corridor. A second suspect was not located. The Kirkland man was arrested for malicious mischief, obstruction, resisting arrest and possessing a large amount of marijuana.

Domestic: 9:57 p.m., 12600 block of 98th Ave. NE. A 33-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence after she slapped and scratched her fiance’s face during an argument.

April 1

Park violation: 11:58 p.m., 500 block of 8th St. S. Five Kirkland residents, one who is underage, were contacted in Everest Park after the park was closed and were cited and released.

Illegal drugs: 5:01 p.m., 11700 block of 124th Ave. NE. Police were called to the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken for a domestic dispute. When they arrived they found a man and a woman throwing food at one another. The 23-year-old man had a DUI warrant out of Seattle, and upon a search of the couple’s vehicle illegal drugs, including methamphetamine and pills, were discovered.

Warrant: 9:02 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St. A 26-year-old Bothell female was stopped in traffic and found to have a warrant out of Snohomish County.

April 2

Car theft: 12:59 a.m., 14200 112th Ave. NE. A 52-year-old homeless man was arrested after he was seen looking through multiple car windows. The car he was seen driving was also reported stolen and multiple items inside the car were also reported stolen.

Domestic: 12:36 p.m., 12100 NE 142nd Pl. A 42-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for domestic violence harassment after threatening to stab his mother-in-law in the leg with a knife.

April 3

Assault: 1:57 p.m., 14900 block of 119th Ave. NE. A 54-year-old Bellevue woman was arrested after reportedly getting into an altercation with a 76-year-old Kirkland woman and pushing her to the ground. The victim hit her head, causing injury.

April 4

Harassment: 7:30 p.m., 300 block of Kirkland Ave. Between March 1 and April 4, a 28-year-old Kirkland man approached a 16-year-old Kirkland boy on three separate occasions at the Kirkland Library, making sexual comments. On April 4, the man gave the boy his phone number and told him to text him. He then made the comment, “you’re so sexy,” to the boy. The man was arrested for harassment and trespassed from the library.

April 5

Traffic offense: 10:53 a.m., 700 block of State St. A 37-year-old Lynnwood woman was arrested after she drove her vehicle into a retaining wall of a driveway and attempted to flee the scene on foot. The woman’s boyfriend was allegedly in the vehicle as well but was not located. The woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license, driving without an interlock system in the vehicle, reckless driving, racing and hit and run.
