The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.
From April 6-12, there were 928 total incidents, including 203 traffic incidents, 21 traffic accidents, one DUI, 26 general traffic incidents, nine incidents involving illegal drugs, 44 alarm calls, eight abandoned vehicles, three burglaries, 12 incidents of fraud, 13 civil incidents, five cases of harassment, 21 thefts, 24 vehicle prowls, 10 vehicle thefts, 15 warrants served, 10 noise complaints, five animal calls, 17 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, eight disturbances, one sex offense, six hit and run incidents and 26 incidents involving at least one arrest.
April 6
Domestic: 4:29 a.m., 12200 block of 124th St. A 40-year-old Kirkland man and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal disturbance. The woman was contacted earlier in the evening after she and the man were in a disturbance at Dub Pub. During the interview, a bruise was visible on her cheek, which was not present during the previous contact at Dub Pub. Witnesses at Dub Pub stated she was punched, but she denied it. The man was arrested on fourth degree assault and domestic violence and booked into Kirkland Jail.
April 7
Trespass: 12:31 a.m., 300 block of Kirkland Ave. A 24-year-old homeless man was located sleeping in the library parking garage. A current trespass letter is in place for the man listing the library parking garage. The man was cited and released.
Warrant: 4:51 a.m., 12600 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 30-year-old woman was contacted while driving a vehicle through the Totem Lake Mall detour. The vehicle did not have a front hood. A 47-year-old Renton man and a 22-year-old Sultan man were both in the vehicle as well, and neither was wearing a seat belt. The Renton man was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest. The Sultan man was found to have a warrant as well, and meth on his person.
April 8
Trespass: 5 p.m., 10600 block of NE 68th St. A 58-year-old man was trespassed from the Metropolitan Market and was then arrested for violating that order.
April 10
Warrant: 7:33 a.m., 12100 block of 108th Ave. NE. A 32-year-old Kirkland man was arrested on his felony warrant.
Warrant: 11:04 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 32-year-old Graham man was arrested on his third degree theft warrant out of Issaquah after being contacted at Fred Meyer.
April 11
Malicious mischief: 3:44 p.m., NE 142nd Way and 90th Avenue NE. A male driver was the victim of road rage when a 26-year-old Kirkland man exited his vehicle, confronted the man and then slammed his fists into the hood of the man’s car, causing dents. The suspect was arrested a short time later for malicious mischief.
Domestic: 10 p.m., 500 block of 16th Ave. W. A 51-year-old Kirkland man and a 41-year-old Kirkland woman were contacted after having a verbal dispute over car keys. No crime was committed, and the couple was left with domestic violence pamphlets.
April 12
Domestic: 11:55 a.m., 13200 block of 129th Pl. A 19-year-old Kirkland woman threatened to kill herself with a knife. When her mother took the knife away, her daughter assaulted her sister.
Soliciting: 12:47 p.m., 14100 block of 129th Ave. NE. A resident reported to police that a man with baggy pants and no credentials came to the door trying to sell windows.
