A response to Ms. Rind | Letter

I am pleased that Ms. Sherry Rind’s letter (Kirkland Reporter, May 19) acknowledged that she is disturbed. All socialists/liberals living in their bubbles are disturbed when other people do not agree completely with their dogma. I refuse, however, helping her understand the meaning of common words in the English language. For that I recommend she peruse a Webster’s dictionary. I can also understand her need for proof of all the uncivilized behavior by the hooded thugs and Democratic leaders that has been widely reported by some television networks and print media. The bubble elite do not see those reports and rely exclusively for news from their sources, e.g., The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and MSNBC — which do not report news happening outside the bubble.

To all the questions in the letter, most answers are obvious and elicit my one word responses: yes and no. Thanks for calling me coy for the words “I believe” in my letter. Those words were inserted by the editor of the Kirkland Reporter, so you may take up your beef with Ms. Pak.

One of my favorite law professors paraphrased a thought on the classroom blackboard that applies to intellectual discourse with the bubble elites: You can lead a man to knowledge, but you cannot make him think.

Edward Bell,
