Our north Kirkland community, the students in the Cambridge program and Futures School and their families are very fortunate to have a school board and administration that recognize the need for positive action in education.
Thank you, voters, for making our future bright. Now, if the Legislature would get their act together and fully fund basic education as mandated by the State Supreme Court and the McCleary decision, K-12 education in Washington would have an incandescent future.
Last September, the $100,000/day penalty imposed by the court for the Legislature’s tardiness had totaled $39.1 million. There’s not much time till June 30. Write your legislators and ask them to pass a bill that amply and fully funds basic education and is sustainable and progressive.
