An 18-year-old man died in a crash on southbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland early Monday morning.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Sidney Jahn.
According to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) report, the incident occurred at about 3:40 a.m. around the Northeast 85th Street interchange.
A blue 2004 BMW 325 was traveling down the interstate at a high rate of speed, according to the report. The rear passenger was hanging out of the window when the vehicle lost control, striking right side guardrail. The passenger was ejected from vehicle and was deceased at scene.
According to the report, the vehicle was totaled and towed to the WSP bullpen in Bellevue.
Three lanes were blocked for two hours and 16 minutes following the incident.
