Wednesday, Aug. 2
Assault: At 5:06 p.m., a 21-year-old man assaulted another man in the 9800 block of N.E. 116th St. The suspect was positively identified and he was booked into the Kirkland Jail. The victim gave a written statement.
Tuesday, Aug. 1
Theft: A 45-year-old woman was arrested at 8:16 p.m. for theft after walking out of the Kingsgate Safeway in the 14400 block of 124th Ave. N.E. with beer and food. She was released at the scene.
Monday, July 31
From bad to worse: Police responded to a traffic collision at 4:10 p.m. in the 12800 block of N.E. 124th St. One vehicle had entered the center lane to proceed to turn left at Northeast 124th Street and 132nd Avenue Northeast. A second vehicle also entered the center turn lane and collided with the first vehicle as it went by. The driver of the second vehicle was cited for improper lane travel. The driver of the first vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was driving his girlfriend’s vehicle and was arrested when her .22 caliber pistol was discovered in the glove box while searching for the registration. The suspect does not have a concealed pistol license and was driving with a suspended licence. He was booked and released and cited for expired tabs and no insurance.
Sunday, July 30
Sure, watermelon and beer go together: At 2:49 a.m., an 18-year-old man was observed with three other male subjects, carrying watermelons belonging to the Juanita Safeway in the 10000 block of N.E. 137th St., through the parking lot after store hours. Upon attempted contact, the three other male subjects ran away, smashing the watermelons in the parking lot. The remaining suspect did not run and was contacted at his nearby vehicle. Police found beer inside the vehicle and could smell alcohol on his breath. The suspect admitted to drinking earlier in the evening and provided a preliminary breathe test of 0.102.
Saturday, July 29
Warrant arrest: A 28-year-old man was arrested at 6:44 p.m. in the 11700 block of N.E. 118th St. and booked on his warrant.
Friday, July 28
Possession: At 10:35 p.m., police spotted an 18-year-old woman and 20-year-old woman at OO Denny Park smoking suspected marijuana while in the park after hours. They were cited and released in the field.
Asleep at the wheel: At 2:39 a.m., a 30-year-old man fell asleep at the wheel and drove over the center planter in the 11200 block of N.E. 85th St., which destroyed both driver’s side tires on his car. The driver had been drinking. He performed poorly on a standardized field sobriety test and provided a preliminary breathe test of 0.180. He was arrested for driving under the influence and later provided breath samples of 0.151 and 0.154. He was booked and released.
Driving issues: During a traffic stop at 1:40 a.m. in the 13000 block of N.E. 70th Pl., a 30-year-old man was found to be driving under the influence as well as driving with a suspended license. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Kirkland jail.
Thursday, July 27
DUI: At 11:08 p.m., police arrested a 32-year-old man in the 12600 block of Totem Lake Blvd. N.E. for driving under the influence. The suspect refused a standardized field sobriety test but provided a preliminary breathe test of 0.136. He also refused the blood alcohol concentration process at the police station. The suspect was released from jail without issue.
Theft: At 6:33 p.m., an 18-year-old man was detained by loss prevention at the Juanita Safeway in the 10000 block of N.E. 137th St. for stealing $68.45 in liquor. He was booked and released.
Possession: A 30-year-old man was found unconscious at 4:07 p.m. in front of Smoker’s Choice in the 13500 block of 100th Ave. N.E. He admitted to using heroin earlier in the day and paraphernalia was in open view. The suspect was cited for having the paraphernalia.
